Gas prices may have peaked in Houston, according to GasBuddy
Average gasoline prices in Houston moved near $4 a gallon Monday, but they may have peaked, according to the fuel-price tracking website GasBuddy.
Gasoline averaged $3.95 a gallon in the Houston area, but cost as much as $4.99, according to the GasBuddy. Average prices here are up 87 cents from a month ago and $1.40 from a year ago.RELATED:Gasoline prices have soared with oil prices following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. “After a furious increase in the national average over the last two weeks, the top appears to be in with average gas prices slowly starting to decline over the last few days,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysts at GasBuddy. “While the decrease could be short-lived, it is nonetheless a well-needed break from the large surge in gas prices we've experienced over the last few weeks.
