National gas prices are rising again.
As the 2024 presidential election approaches, the economy is on voters' minds. And the price at the pumps is one of the most direct pieces of evidence as to how the economy is faring.The national average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas on Wednesday is $3.848, above yesterday's price of $3.836. The price was $3.803 a week ago, according to AAA.

One week ago, the price was $3.612.The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia has risen to $3.578, above Tuesday's $3.566 price. Last week, the price was $3.580.The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Washington, D.C.
