The upcoming Gargoyles movie based on the 1990s animated series will be directed by Kenneth Branagh, director of Belfast.
This upcoming feature film will be based on the animated 1990s TV series which followed nocturnal creatures known as gargoyles who turn to stone during the day. Branagh, director of films like Thor, Murder on the Orient Express, and Belfast, will direct the upcoming movie from Disney. This is another live-action adaptation from the brand.
Talks of a live-action Gargoyles movie have been circulating for years. In 2011, David Elliot and Paul Lovett, the screenwriting team behind G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, were tapped to write a script. In 2018, Jordan Peele pitched a Gargoyles movie to Disney, but it never got picked up.
