It was the Galaxy’s first loss since losing to Salt Lake FC 3-2 during US Open Cup play on June 7.

Brian White scored the first of the Whitecaps’ three goals in the first half with a header in the second minute of the game.

Ryan Gauld put the ball in the net past Galaxy goalkeeper Jonathan Bond on two other occasions during the first half. The Galaxy rallied with goals from Gastón Brugman in the 61st minute and Marco Delgado in the 74th minute to cut into the Whitecaps’ lead. Sergio Córdova would put the game out of reach for the Galaxy with a goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time.Related Articles
