.RepMattGaetz is clapping back at liberal media following dropped charges by the DOJ after a years long investigation into the Congressman. Liberal media 'propagandiz[ed] my life,' Gaetz said.
Gaetz had been accused of helping his former friend and associate Seminole County tax collector Joel Greenberg traffic a 17-year-old girl across state lines in 2017. In December, Greenberg was sentenced to 11 years in prison after pleading guilty as part of a plea deal.
The Florida congressman suggested that CNN was “projecting” its own scandals plaguing the network in recent years, including the ousting of former CNN President Jeff Zucker and the cancellation of its prime-time show Cuomo. “I don’t really take my Ps and Qs from the mainstream media,” Gaetz added. “For the last two years, I’ve been fighting for my constituents, and the mainstream media has largely been like a refuge for scoundrels and weirdos.”Gaetz noted that he has learned from both former President Donald Trump and Rep. Jim Jordan not to allow the “process become the punishment” but instead keep moving forward and “lead on critical Republican efforts.
“Folks don’t always agree with my perspective on everything, but I have been working to impact the Congress in a positive way, to get us out of foreign wars, focus on the border, and now, I serve on the committee focused on the weaponization of this government against our people,” Gaetz said. “Having been through the experiences of my life, I hope I’m able to be an effective member of that panel.”
