People gathered for a funeral for a baby whose mother is accused of giving birth to her in a Whataburger restroom and attempting to flush her down a toilet.
About 100 community members gathered at a church on San Antonio 's Northwest Side to remember a baby girl who never got a chance to live. Baby Mary 's tiny casket was one foot long. It remained closed. 'Not viewable. A lot of head trauma,' funeral home staff had noted. The baby's mother gave birth to her in a Whataburger restroom in December and flushed her 7 month old body down the toilet last month, law enforcement officials said.

She negotiated a discounted rate for the funeral, burial and headstone and collected donations from several local nonprofits and community members. Many of those who gathered for the funeral were members of various motorcycle groups such as the Guardians of the Children, Least of Saints God’s Kingdom and Armor of God.
