The summer pool season starts Saturday with 24 public pools open across San Antonio.

Saturday marks the official start of pool season with outdoor public pools reopening as temperatures in San Antonio approach the triple digits. Parks and Recreation DepartmentThis year, pool hours are being extended by one hour each day, with earlier swim times at select locations. The Elmendorf, Kingsborough, Lincoln, Southcross and Woodlawn Lake pools will be open daily from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. For earlier swim times, visit the Woodlawn Lake from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Pools will stay open until the summer season ends in mid-August. The city’s indoor Natatorium is closed for renovations this summer, the city said.community swim days, San Antonio families have more options to splash at; Open swim is available now at the YWCA at 503 Castroville Rd. from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The YWCA also offers lap swimming and water walking from 10 a.m. to noon, and water aerobics from noon to 1 p.m. during the same weekdays.

The Southwest ISD Aquatic Center will also welcome San Antonio families on Fridays through Aug. 2, from noon to 4 p.m. at its pool at 9290 SW Loop 410.
