For generations, we’ve relied on the free press to expose and hold government, business and other sectors of society accountable. Yet the meek news efforts seem committed to warping the definition of fairness by clouding the truth and conflating the facts. . The outlets are responding to the bullying by the displeased before it even occurs. Never is everyone pleased with the reporting. Meanwhile, we The People are left uninformed at best and misled at worst.
Our news industry has lost sight of their job to say it how it is, to point out the differences, to say the facts without influencing adverbs or alarming adjectives. They let a single word of the lead mislead. Positive words summarize negative actions. Alarming speeches are edited into all’s well. Reports and stories are made more palatable to be attractive to more of the audience, because ratings and revenue are vital.
