FAIRBANKS, Alaska - How many times do you go to the grocery store? For some, it’s once a week and for others it can be several times a week. Unfortunately, there are some people who simply cannot afford to go to the grocery store at all.
“Everything here is local,” Drew Kirk, the store manager at Fred Meyers West, said. “Anything we do with Round Up is local. It doesn’t go to Portland, doesn’t go to Seattle, doesn’t go anywhere but Fairbanks. It doesn’t even go to Anchorage. It literally is just for our community here in Fairbanks and the rural area.”
