Francisco Lindor can rest when the season is finished.
The Mets were scheduled to play their 128th game of the season Thursday night, and their starting shortstop hadn’t missed any of them.And Carlos Mendoza is the latest manager to realize it’s futile trying to convince Lindor that an occasional day off might benefit him.
Lindor at the time was playing through a bone spur in his right elbow that was surgically removed after the season. “I train for that reason in the offseason: to try to play in as many games I can,” Lindor said. “I want to post up every single day.”
