After roster cuts, the Pittsburgh Steelers still have some needs. Who are five players he could end up signing?
Los Angeles Rams' Ben Skowronek shouts as the rain pours down during the second half of an NFL football game against the Baltimore Ravens Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023, in Baltimore. The Pittsburgh Steelers have set their initial 53-man roster, but the team could still add others after teams have released multiple intriguing players. With the needs at cornerback and wide receiver,With Tim Patrick off the market, the Steelers’ top wide receiver to pursue is Noah Brown.
However, Brown fits what the Steelers like a lot. He can play special teams and create big plays, and he is an excellent blocker. Those are all areas that either Arthur Smith values or the Steelers need help with at this stage in the process.where he put over 500 yards, Brown would easily get playing time with the Steelers and bring something they lack to the room.
Boykin is an excellent special teamer and blocker, and aligns on the roster as an ideal WR6. Again, those units matter, and with the new kickoff rules, the special teams coverage units will matter more than ever. Boykin is part of that equation that could boost their special teams.Wade is a fun cornerback to consider for the slot job because of his background. Not only would he check off the slot cornerback box, but he can play outside and has extensive special teams work.
Wade solves all three issues plaguing the Steelers in the cornerback room. He gives them inside-out versatility while giving a special teams boost to the unit, and the Steelers are very familiar with Wade from facing him in the AFC. Mike Tomlin loves that familiarity. With upside in his game, Wade feels like someone that the Steelers could nab and add to the cornerback room to make it far better than it is now.
