Fort Bend County was originally left out of FEMA's Individual Assistance program.
The county was left off the original list, but at a news conference on Saturday, Judge KP George said the county had been added.
That was the big news from County Judge KP George Saturday as he gave an update on recovery six days after the storm. “Fort Bend County is officially added to receive individual assistance from FEMA,” George said. “And I want to be very clear again. We are added. Now our citizens can go and apply for individual assistance from FEMA.”
George also gave an update on the county in the six days since Beryl’s landfall. The county is down to 27,322 customers without power, down from more than 350,000 at the height of the storm. He also said shelters are being consolidated, but will stay open as long as people need them.through the iSTAT
