Michael Steele criticized former Vice President Mike Pence, reminding him that Trump's supporters wanted to 'hang' him.

In the interview with ABC News, Pence criticized Bragg for pushing forward with the case against Trump, saying he was"taken aback at the idea of indicting a former president of the United States."

Steele's comment about Trump preferring to see Pence"hanged" was an apparent reference to the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot. During that attack targeting the federal legislative branch of government, many of Trump's supporters chanted"Hang Mike Pence." A gallows was also erected outside the building.
