“No question they’ll be a playoff team,” Jaworski said. “It’ll be the Eagles and Dallas battling until the end again.” “ was the Achilles heel last year,” Jaworski said. “The defense never looked comfortable to me. Defense is about 11 guys working in harmony and they didn’t work in harmony consistently enough. They struggled late in the season.”
The Eagles addressed major defensive needs at the 2024 NFL Draft by taking cornerback Quinyon Mitchell from the University of Toledo in the first round and traded up to snag defensive back Cooper DeJean from the University of Iowa in the second round. The Eagles signed the Penn State alum and former New York Giants running back to a three-year. $35.75 million free agent contract .“One thing about Saquon’s game is that he can pass protect. They’ve always had a tendency to play smaller backs in the backfield, but running backs are also receivers and blockers to pick up the blitz. It’s an area they’ve struggled with, so I think Saquon will be a big plus in that area,” Jaworski said.
