With a prior conviction of selling illegal drugs, a former Allegheny County Jail corrections officer will serve 18 months in federal prison for possessing a sawed-off shotgun, reports said.

Lewis Bagnato, 33, of Kennedy Township, Allegheny County, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand in August and was sentenced on Thursday. In addition to the prison term, he must also serve three years of supervised release, according toPreviously, Bagnato was charged in state court in May 2021 with felony drug and contraband charges after investigators discovered that he worked with a man incarcerated at jail to sell K2, a type of synthetic cannabis.
