Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, having had the coronavirus, said he had been wrong not to wear a mask at a White House event or while preparing Republican President Donald Trump to debate Democratic rival Joe Biden.

“It was a mistake,” Christie said on ABC’s Good Morning America. “I was led to believe that all the people I was interacting with at the White House had been tested and it gave you a false sense of security.” A failed Republican presidential candidate in 2016, Christie is one of several Trump allies to test positive for the virus in recent weeks.
