"We as Americans must stand together to reject this anti-freedom culture of political retaliation and abuse of power. We can't allow our country to be destroyed by politicians who will put their own power ahead of the interests of the American people, our freedom, and our future," Gabbard said. Gabbard has distanced herself from the Democratic Party since dropping out of its 2020 presidential primary race but also was known to take positions that didn’t align with her party’s during her time as a House lawmaker. She voted “present” during the vote to impeach Trump for his call with Ukraine’s president in 2019.
