Ford Fiesta production will officially end in 2023 to make way for EVs.
Ford published a video to one of its European YouTube channels bidding farewell to the famous hatchback, while also teasing its higher-riding, all-electric replacement. The Fiesta has been in production for 47 years, eventually becoming the best-selling car in Europe.
Sales numbers for the car have fallen off in recent years, however, as buyers shift to crossovers. Ford killed off the three-door Fiesta in the summer amid falling sales, and now the entire car is on its way out.. The plant is expected start production right as Fiesta production ends, with 200,000 EVs a year forecasted.
