On Saturday, the Buffaloes and first-year head coach Deion Sanders got a verbal commitment from Ju’Juan Johnson, a four-star athlete in the 2024 class who visited CU last weekend.
Listed at 5-foot-11, 178 pounds, Johnson is rated as the No. 4 overall prospect from Louisiana by Rivals.com and No. 5 overall by 247Sports.com. The Lafayette Christian Academy star had Florida and LSU as his other finalists before picking the Buffs. He’s got 18 scholarship offers, including from Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M.
“I want to go and start a new beginning and be a part of a team that’s creating a foundation and that’s why I chose Prime Time,” Johnson said in. “I feel like it’s more than football with . It’s more than just being a football player with him. It’s more than just throwing a ball, catching a ball or guarding somebody. He’s gonna teach me how to become a man. Also, as you all probably know, he’s a Christian man, so I’m gonna still be learning about all I’m learning about over here at LCA.
