With 6 minutes and 5 seconds left in the game, Duke basketball faced a 59-54 deficit against the Clemson Tigers . The No. 2 ranked Blue Devils, having received only 4 points from their star rookie Cooper Flagg , were in a tight spot. Flagg, projected as the No. 1 draft pick, was shooting a dismal 2-for-11 from the field. However, Flagg then took charge, scoring 6 straight points in a minute span, including a three-pointer and a smooth jumper, putting Duke ahead 64-63.
Clemson responded with a 4-0 run, but Flagg answered with another three-pointer, tying the score at 67-67. Both teams traded baskets, with Flagg making another clutch three-pointer, giving Duke a 71-70 lead with 58 seconds remaining. But Clemson's Chase Hunter responded with a difficult layup, putting the Tigers back in front 72-71. Duke had a chance to take the lead back, but Flagg slipped on the court and committed a travel violation with 14.7 seconds left. This was eerily similar to Duke's two previous losses. Clemson sealed the game by making four straight free throws, ending the game at 75-71. Duke will look to bounce back against Cal Golden Bears on Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.
