Unsettled pattern develops with more showers into next week
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Central and south Alabama will experience warm spring conditions over the next couple of days before rain chances increase ahead of the upcoming weekend.
A cold front will bring scattered showers and storms late Friday into Saturday and then again next week... temperatures will remain near normal to slightly above average throughout the period with no significant cooldown expected. Mostly sunny and warm conditions continue, with clouds increasing late in the day as moisture begins to return.
Most areas will stay dry through the afternoon, but a few showers or storms may begin to develop across west Alabama by the late afternoon and early evening. On/off periods of shower and storm activity more likely for the first half of the weekend compared to the second half, especially during the afternoon and evening. This is when rain chances ramp up, so have an umbrella handy if you plan to be outside. The cold front moves through the region Sunday, bringing additional scattered showers and storms; rain may not be as widespread as Saturday, with gradual clearing possible later in the day.
Behind the front, temperatures remain above normal with partly sunny skies. Additional systems may bring periodic chances for showers and storms through the week.
