While Sen. Marco Rubio has not publicly accepted a nomination for the role, Sen. John Fetterman said Tuesday he looks forward to voting for his confirmation.
Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., on Tuesday shared his support for Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., after reports indicated the Republican may be President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for secretary of state.
“Unsurprisingly, the other team’s pick will have political differences than my own,” Sen. Fetterman wrote. “That being said, my colleague @SenMarcoRubio is a strong choice and I look forward to voting for his confirmation.” Sen. Rubio has yet to publicly accept a nomination from Trump. The president-elect this week also named Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., as UN ambassador, and former acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Tom Homan as border czar.
The senator fired back during a 2016 rally in Virginia by taking aim at Trump’s hand size, something which he claimed made Trump untrustworthy.
