One man's fake scheme to buy and resell Warriors tickets netted him $39 million.
An East Bay man faces federal charges for allegedly running a Ponzi scheme for nearly a decade which involved a fake plan to buy and resell tickets to Golden State Warriors games.
He is accused of raising $39 million by fraudulently soliciting investments in the purchase and resale of"professional basketball tickets and luxury suites" at Chase Center, Oracle Arena and the Staples Center in Los Angeles , authorities said. That strongly suggests his scheme involved Warriors and either, or both of, the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers tickets.
