Prosecutors in northern Ohio collected more than $22 million in criminal and civil cases for fiscal year 2022, an increase from $14 million the previous year.

Last year, prosecutors collected more than $14 million in criminal and civil actions for the fiscal year 2021. Two years ago, the U.S. attorney’s office obtained more than $40 million, an amount that included $11.4 million in asset forfeitures. Martinez’s staff testified that he would see more than 100 patients a day and spend two to five minutes with them and performed “little or no physical examination” during visits, but Martinez billed the visits under billing codes used for more pricier office visits, prosecutors said.
