Tragedy struck the Scottsdale Airport in Arizona on Monday afternoon when a collision involving two aircraft resulted in one fatality and four injuries. At approximately 2:30 p.m., a small jet arriving from Austin, Texas, veered off the runway and collided with a larger jet. Airport officials believe that the landing jet's left main gear malfunctioned upon touchdown, contributing to the crash.
The runway has been closed as authorities conduct a comprehensive investigation into the cause of the incident. Five individuals were onboard the impacted aircraft. Sadly, one person perished at the scene. Three others were transported to a local hospital for treatment of various injuries, while a fifth person declined medical attention. One of the planes is registered to Chromed in Hollywood, LLC, a company based in Franklin, Tennessee. Incorporation papers filed with the Wyoming Secretary of State list Vince Neil, the renowned singer and frontman of the rock band Mötley Crüe, as the president of Chromed in Hollywood, LLC. While it remains unclear if Neil was involved in the crash, his talent agency has confirmed to Scripps News that they are aware of the incident.The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) released a statement regarding the accident: 'A Learjet 35A veered off the runway after landing and crashed into a Gulfstream 200 business jet on the ramp at Scottsdale Municipal Airport in Arizona around 2:45 p.m. local time Monday, Feb. 10. We do not know how many people were on board. The FAA is temporarily pausing flights into the airport.'
