A fan was kicked out of Arthur Ashe Stadium in the early hours of Tuesday morning after Germany’s Alexander Zverev claimed the man said “the most famous Hitler phrase there is.”
The incident occurred around 12:15 a.m. during the fourth set of the fourth round match with the No. 11 seed ahead two sets to one over No. 6 Jannik Sinner at the U.S. Open.Security talks with a fan who allegedly yelled a “Hilter” slur during the U.S. Open on Tuesday.After Zevrev’s report to the chair umpire, several security members came down in the stands to search for the fan for several minutes.
Eventually, the group found the fan in question, sitting just a few rows from the court and appeared to speak to him for a few minutes. They just escorted someone out. Unclear if this was the person who shouted “the most famous Hitler phrase” before
