Faceless and the Family's first glimpse is here!

Screen Rant is excited to share an exclusive preview of the upcoming Oni Press comic Faceless and the Family #1. The first issue will be a double-sized adventure, as the series presents themes of friendship and redemption. The four-issue comic involving an alien world will feature a black-and-white art style.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Faceless and the Family is created by Matt Lesniewski, an Eisner Award-nominated cartoonist. He is known for Mind MGMT Bootleg, Crimson Flower, and The Freak. Debuting this Fall, his latest work depicts a quest for family and identity in an ambitious sci-fi society riven by class prejudice.

On the broken and warped world known as the Hand Planet, the wanderer simply called Faceless ekes out existence on the margins to escape the shame that cost him his name and his identity. Exiled for his crimes, Faceless now calls the wastelands his home - until the good fortune of fate delivers him a mismatched band of fellow travelers who will soon become family...

The exclusive preview presents the titular protagonist, Faceless, who is seen wearing a giant helmet and face covering. His troubled past is quickly provided, revealing that he was a gang member to find acceptance. This was not possible, however, and he lives with regrets in hiding. The final pages show him beginning his journey to an unknown place, the whereabouts even he doesn't yet know, as a large person also seems to be starting a journey of their own.

Matt Lesniewski's prior work with Oni Press has included Xino, and he has also illustrated covers for other titles, such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #113 and Commanders in Crisis #10 . This new work promises an examination of belonging and humanity, set against a dreary background and past regrets. Oni Press is poised to have an eventful Fall publishing season, with several intriguing new titles releasing soon, Faceless and the Family #1 among them.
