The desert wild flowers is the annual attraction for many visitors to enjoy short hikes and camping stays in the park. The warning by the National Weather Service went into effect at 10 a.m. Sunday and will last until Friday at 8 p.m.
Weather officials warn of “dangerously” hot conditions and temperatures of 110 to 119 degrees. They estimate that the heat will peak on Friday. The National Weather Service advises people to stay out of the sun, drink lots of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms and check in on relatives and neighbors. When outside, people should wear loose-fitting clothes and limit strenuous activities to the early morning or evening.
