The former Yankees pitcher didn't hold back when talking about his former agent.
Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Adrian Del Castillo, left, talks with starting pitcher Jordan Montgomery, right, during the fourth inning of a baseball game against the Miami Marlins, Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, in Miami. One-hundred and thirty-one games into his season and likely playoff-bound, Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Jordan Montgomery still can’t get the sour taste out of his mouth about the offseason.
That’s when, fresh off leading the Texas Rangers to the World Series, he had to wait until March 25, days into spring training, to sign his free agent contract, which he settled for at $25 million for 2024 with a $22.5 million vesting option for 2025. For a 31-year-old, durable pitcher, that represented quite the letdown — and he blames one person, his former agent.
