If audiences are only going to show up for superhero movies then that powerful sub-genre has a greater responsibility to be as inclusive as possible.

No, I’m not going to link to bootleg copies of the “in theaters only” teaser trailer forthat popped up online a few days ago. But I will note, if you’ve seen the teaser attached to prints ofas a way both to trick audiences and as a way to assure folks who might care that Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn won’t be hung up on The Joker this time around. But that can wait for another time, especially if the teaser pops up online after this weekend.

I don’t know if 2020 will be a repeat of 2019, where comic book superhero movies from the Marvel or DC Comics universes ruled the roast. If for no other reason than the likely global dominance of Universal’s, I imagine next year won’t be quite so dependent on Disney and/or Marvel/DC superhero flicks. But whether they win, place or show, we’re still getting our fair share of big comic book superhero movies next year.
