I am an experienced journalist in the esports and influencer space, and always on the lookout for interesting stories. I have previously been a finalist for Reporter of the Year at the GMBL Awards, and have written a book, Esports: The Ultimate Gamer's Guide, covering all of the major esports.

that should finally let more players access the Streets of Tarkov map thanks to a new graphical setting.

The update, which is being added now and will be live when the servers go back up around 7am Eastern, adds a new option to the graphical settings menu called “Streets of Tarkov Lower Texture Resolution Mode.” When enabled, this setting will lower the textures on the Streets of Tarkov map, which should reduce the load on your PC.

Until now actually getting into a game on Streets of Tarkov has been hit or miss for many players. If you don’t have 32GB of RAM then there has been a good chance that you will either fail to load into the map or have a terrible frame rate that makes it unplayable. As someone with half that amount of RAM, Streets has been completely unplayable for the last week, although prior to that I could scav into the map somewhat reliably..

Hopefully, this new setting will mean I can run my PMC into Streets without fear of the game crashing and losing all my gear as a result. Nothing is more annoying than waiting over 10 minutes to get into a game only to crash out before you even get onto the map.The technical update also makes some big fixes, including fixing the ability to jump in trees which gave us a lot of people camping in unlikely spots.
