MAGNOLIA — A year ago, Travis Earles didn’t know Jimmy from Joe, Melvin from Mo or Benjamin from Bo when it came to Magnolia West’s baseball program. But to be fair, there aren’t any current members of the Mustangs baseball program with those first names. But you get the point.
Nearly a year later, Earles leads the Mustangs into action at 4 p.m. Thursday in the University Interscholastic League Class 5A semifinals at Dell Diamond. The Mustangs take on Frisco Reedy . Although the Mustangs weren’t on his radar 15 months ago, Earles and the Summer Creek Bulldogs played Magnolia West during a tournament in March 2022. A 4-2 win by Summer Creek.
