The show, which is now airing its second season, made history when it debuted in 2018 for casting five transgender women of color as series regulars, an unprecedented number for a scripted series in the U.S.are no strangers to receiving nominations and wins, with Sterling K. Brown and Milo Ventimiglia securing lead actor nominations for the third year in a row. Brown previously won the award for best actor in 2017. Ventigmilia has yet to win an Emmy.
