Two remain hospitalized after a flash fire at Austin High School's annual event; tens of thousands raised via GoFundMe; benefit concert set for Nov. 7.

Two people remain hospitalized after a flash fire injured three individuals at Austin High School's annual Monster Concert and Carnival over the weekend. The fire happened Saturday afternoon during the orchestra's annual Monster Concert and Carnival.

Garcia says he was volunteering on the grills Saturday evening when he suddenly smelled gasoline. The next moment...Garcia was volunteering alongside the orchestra director's son and husband, who he heard shouting just before the flash fire. Another parent volunteer was also injured in the fire. One of the burn victims was taken away by helicopter. So far only that parent volunteer has been released from the hospital.

She and fellow former president Thomas Aguilar weren't at the carnival, but felt compelled to act after the fire out of love for the director and her family.
