“Check it out, Dark MAGA,” Carvey said in his impression, jumping up and down. “But seriously, I run the country now.”
The joke was in reference to Musk at Donald Trump’s MSG rally, where he called himself “dark, gothic MAGA.” But Musk wasn’t too amused by the sketch on SNL this weekend.The sketch was a part of the show‘s cold opening, where SNL cast members jokingly praised Trump and said they voted for him in order to stay off his enemy list.
Carvey continued his imitation of the billionaire who widely supported Trump’s campaign, saying: “America’s going to be like one of my rockets. They’re super cool and super fun, but there’s a slight chance it could blow up and everybody dies.”Musk then brought up Kamala Harris' cameo on the show before the election, which required the network to give Trump ad spot in accordance with the FCC Equal Time rule.
