Ellen DeGeneres thanks viewers after she tapes final edition of The Ellen DeGeneres Show
DeGeneres, 64, filmed her final episode on Thursday, marking the end of the show after 19 seasons. She said her 'goal was always for the show to be a place where we could all come together and laugh for an hour'. The show ends following a difficult stretch of more than two years for DeGeneres amid personal and professional scrutiny.
Dozens of former employees complained of a toxic workplace rife with bullying, racism and sexual misconduct in a July 2020 report. WarnerMedia launched a probe into the show in July of 2020. Three producers had 'parted ways' with the show prior to its 18th season. The show suffered a huge ratings hit last season in the wake of the scandal.
