Rivian, the EV startup looking to challenge Tesla with electric pickups and SUVs, just raised another $2.5 billion in funding
Electric-vehicle upstart Rivian just closed a $2.5 billion round of funding, the company announced on Friday. Since last year, Rivian has raised well over $5 billion and is backed by Amazon, Ford, and Cox Automotive, among others. Including this latest batch of funding, Rivian has racked up roughly $5.35 billion from investors since 2019. Last year's major investments include a $700 million round led by Amazon, $500 million from Ford, and $350 million from Cox Automotive.
