The Biden campaign has released a new digital ad that answers a question posed by former president Trump in a recent Truth Social post: “Are you better off than you were four years ago?” “Yes,” the ad concludes, showing scenes from the early months of the coronavirus pandemic and Trump’s White House response to remind voters about the difficult period when the pandemic was killing thousands of Americans a day.
Meanwhile, the ad uses audio from Trump’s press briefings and interviews in which he suggests injecting people with disinfectants, attacks a reporter for asking about scared Americans and hails his administration as a success. “Yeah, no, I don’t take responsibility at all,” Trump says in one part. “We’re doing, I think, really, really well.” The Trump campaign did not immediately reply to a request for comment on the ad.
