El anuncio contrasta con el realizado hace unos días por el presidente, Daniel Noboa, que anticipó que los cortes de luz se reducirían “de forma paulatina” en las zonas residenciales a entre ocho, seis y cuatro horas diarias en las tres próximas semanas. Antes del anuncio, Noboa publicó en su cuenta de X un oficio dirigido a la ministra y a un comité de crisis en el que señaló que “estamos atravesando una situación climática imprevista y extrema, que afecta no solo a nuestra región, sino a varios países”.
