Police have not released a motive for the killing of 33-year-old Abner Oswaldo Najeraxol
EAST PALO ALTO – A second person has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 33-year-old man Monday night in East Palo Alto, according to police.
Ceferino Vasquez Lopez, 29, of East Palo Alto, was arrested Thursday, East Palo Alto Interim Police Chief Jeff Liu said in a statement.“The video surveillance footage clearly showed the second suspect was an active participant in the murder,” Liu said. Officers were called to the 400 block of O’Keefe Street at 11:35 p.m. Monday for a report of a stabbing victim. They found the victim, identified as Abner Oswaldo Najeraxol, and provided first aid until paramedics arrived. Najeraxol, however, died of his injuries at the scene.
Just after 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers arrested Wilmer Vasquez Amador, 19, of East Palo Alto, in connection with the killing. Amador and Lopez are cousins, Liu said. Police have not released a motive for the fatal stabbing, which marked the city’s third homicide of the year.
