The earth shook at 9:29 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake was centered about 2½ miles southwest of Isleton. The quake triggered a ShakeAlert notification for users in many Bay Area counties, but people in some areas who had received the alarm said they did not feel the quake.BART trains were delayed while safety inspectors examined the tracks in areas where the ground moved. They concluded the inspections about 9:55 a.m. and deemed everything safe. Residual delays were expected throughout the rest of the morning.
