The Philadelphia Eagles are bracing for a potentially snowy showdown against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Round. While the kickoff time of 3 p.m. ET might allow them to avoid the worst of the winter weather, Eagles players acknowledge the challenges that playing in such conditions can bring.
As of Thursday night, Philadelphia weather forecasts are predicting a high of 33 degrees and a low of 16 degrees, with a chance of snow. The kickoff between the Eagles and the Rams is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET, which should be early enough to avoid the worst of the winter weather. However, it's still too far out from the game to say for certain how the weather will develop over the next few days.
Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailata acknowledges that his team will be prepared for any conditions but admits that he's not thrilled about the prospect. 'It's miserable. It's miserable. I'm not going to lie,' Mailata said, drawing laughter from the media. 'But that's one of the advantages of playing at home. You've got to get used to this weather. For it to be very consistent weather, it's good for us. But it's whoever shows up on Sunday.' The Eagles have a history of performing well in snowy conditions, famously hosting the Detroit Lions in 2013 in a game known as the 'Snow Bowl,' where they experienced whiteout conditions throughout regulation. LeSean McCoy rushed for 217 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-20 victory. While the forecast doesn't anticipate conditions as severe as the 'Snow Bowl,' the Eagles are hoping that any weather they encounter will contribute to their success, securing them a win and a spot in the NFC championship
