The Eagles started their practice week Wednesday ahead of Sunday's game against the Bengals in Cincinnati.
Eagles linebacker Zack Baun is dealing with a shoulder injury that knocked him out of Sunday's game against the Giants in the fourth quarter., who is considered one of the best offensive tackles in the league, would not be making a quick return from his severe Week 6 hamstring injury and, who left the game against the Giants in the first quarter because of a concussion. Becton was not on the practice field Wednesday, so he obviously remains in concussion protocol.
Tyler Steen stepped in at right guard against the Giants, marking the second time this season he played the majority of the game after Becton left with an injury. Becton left the Eagles’ Week 3 game against the Saints with a torn finger ligament and did not return. Steen did an outstanding job in his absence. According to Pro Football Focus, he did not allow a pressure on 36 pass-blocking snaps against the Saints. He received a PFF grade of 79.6 in that game, including a team-best pass-blocking grade of 88.1. Steen, however, did not fare as well in Becton’s place against the Giants. According to PFF, he allowed two pressures on 15 pass-blocking snaps. He also had a team-low 46.8 run-blocking grade.
Also absent from practice Wednesday were tight end Dallas Goedert, who, like Mailata, is dealing with a hamstring injury. Goedert left the Eagles’ game against the Browns after three plays with the injury and did not play against the Giants. He’s likely to be out at least another week.Cornerback Darius Slay, who has been dealing with a knee injury that briefly knocked him out of the game against the Giants, was on the practice field Wednesday.
