| UPDATED:ANAHEIM — It’s been a whirlwind 24 hours of drama for prospect Jackson LaCombe, culminating with the 22-year-old defenseman set to sign a two-year, entry-level contract with the Anaheim Ducks.
. The team is expected to officially announce the signing on Monday and he could make his NHL debut on Tuesday against the Vancouver Canucks. He will be joining a flurry of Gopher teammates promptly signing NHL contracts in the aftermath of defeat in the championship game. Notably, the Minnesota Wild signed defenseman Brock Faber to a three-year, entry-level deal on Sunday. Faber was a Kings’ second-round draft pick in 2020 and moved to the Wild in the Kevin Fiala deal last summer.
