A driver was killed in a crash involving a Chicago fire truck crash on the Stevenson Expressway on the South Side, Illinois State Police said.
A driver was killed and three more people were seriously hurt after an SUV crashed into a Chicago fire truck on the Southwest Side early Sunday morning, Illinois State Police said.
The crash happened at about 2:38 a.m. on the outbound Stevenson Expressway at Pulaski Road near Archer Heights.Chicago fire officials and police said the truck was stopped at another accident scene when it was hit. Four people, the SUV's driver and passengers, were transported to a local hospital, where the driver was pronounced dead.
Officials said no firefighters were hurt in the crash. Further information was not immediately available.
