Driver dies after crashing his car into utility pole in Vista [Breaking]
A man was killed late Saturday when he crashed his car into a utility pole in Vista, sheriff’s officials said.
The crash occurred at 11:25 pm at the intersection of North Melrose Drive and Tatum Street. A Mercedes-Benz sedan was heading south on Melrose when it veered off the west side of the road for unknown reasons, striking the pole, saidsheriff’s Deputy Jason Malson. The driver, who deputies believe to be in his mid-20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the car, Malson said. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.The name of the driver has not been released. The Sheriff’s Vista traffic division is handling the investigation.
