The Circleville Pumpkin Show: Dr. Bob Liggett wins 15th title with 1,837.5-pound champion
Circleville Pumpkin Show 2022:A natural, McFarland — sporting a weathered, graying beard and a pair of sunglasses slightly askew on the brim of his ball cap — didn't miss a beat on Wednesday as he navigated the 1,837.5 pound champion across the Circleville town square onto the gilded platform of pumpkins.
Dr. Bob Liggett, the 2022 first-place champion and long-reigning king of the pumpkin show — Wednesday is Liggett's 15th first-place showing out of 29 years of growing — was mighty proud. Liggett's gargantuan 1,837.5 pound prize is a little less than 200 pounds away from that 2,000 pound goal. The record, which Liggett also holds, is at 1,964 pounds — just 46 pounds shy of the one ton marker.
