BREAKING: Donald Trump arrives at Washington DC courthouse for arrest and arraignment
Trump arrived at the E. Barrett Prettyman U.S. Courthouse through an underground entrance after flying into Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia, from Newark, New Jersey. A crowd began gathering outside the courthouse late Wednesday evening, prompting law enforcement officials to erect barriers around the building ahead of the former president's appearance. Media outlets and their equipment stretched across the sidewalks early Thursday morning as Trump supporters and anti-Trump supporters began to gather outside the courthouse in the hours leading up to his arraignment.
Trump will be digitally fingerprinted by the U.S. Marshals upon entering the courthouse, although the former president is not expected to have a mugshot taken or be placed in handcuffs. He will then be escorted to the courtroom to enter his plea.
