A French bulldog was stolen at an apartment complex in Woodbridge on Friday, May 5, 2023.A man who arranged to meet a fellow animal lover at a Woodbridge dog park so their French bulldogs could play on Friday was lured to a nearby apartment complex, where his dog was stolen, officials said.
After being connected by a mutual acquaintance, the 22-year-old brought his bulldog Enzo to met the other man at Woodbridge Dog Park on Cliff Road in the Sewaren section of town, police said. The other man suggested they go to his mother’s nearby apartment to pick up additional dogs to play, according to Woodbridge police.
When they arrived at Fox Hill Run apartments on Fox Hill Run Drive, another man swiped Enzo and fled in a black Nissan SUV at about 4:15 p.m., police said. While the victim told NJ Advance Media the thieves have demanded $8,000 for the return of the dog, a police spokesman said they are treating the incident as a theft.Our journalism needs your support.
