The volunteer made the surprise move shortly after a protest to try to halt the killing of Pursuit, a 4-year-old American Bulldog mix. He was set to be euthanized today, Monday Feb. 13.
A volunteer has removed a dog from the Harrisburg Humane Society Monday morning that was set to be euthanized later on Monday.
The Humane Society was planning to put him down today, despite a wave of support asking for the dog to be transferred to a rescue. Protestors applauded when the volunteer drove away with Pursuit. The protesters had been at the scene for more than three hours when the surprise development occurred with the volunteer taking the dog. But shelter officials said the dog is “unpredictable” and must be put down. Officials have not provided any specifics about why they decided to kill the dog.
